Happy Birthday, Suzy. I smiled at the thought that you became an editor to “fix” that headstone mistake! Your grandparents seem like huge personalities (and yes, maybe Oma living nearly 40 years long was its own kind of spite!)

Happy Beatles-song birthday, Suzy. You make the world a better place! (And that photo of you and your Opa reading together is a treasure). I bet you inherited your Oma's longevity, because you have her fire!

"A handmade dollhouse as big as a washer." Barbie could only dream of such a house. I bet it came with real utility bills haha

Happy Birthday Suzy! <3

And on Father's Day too??

My father died at 63, and I’m a few yrs older than he was and you. I was 51 when my mother was 80-how did I get to have an 80 yr old mother? Yikes! How did we get to be so old?!? You’re lucky to have your father still. So many things I never asked either of my parents and now I write about how their lives affected me. Happy birthday! You’re blessed w a loving partner and beautiful kids and grands!

Yep! I remember your 64th birthday too. All those roses in bloom in your yard. I need to pick up your book at Broadway. Sorry to miss the event. Let’s get together soon.

Happy Birthday, Suzy! And I'm the same age now as your Opa was in that photo. It feels youngish to me, lol. And welcome back to the area (I'm just on the border of your salad days roaming)!
