The problem solving is so much fun, but when I get stuck problem solving the horizontal during my writing time, instead of actually writing or revising, it feels wasteful.

Ah, you are speaking my beloved Spanbauerese with that "horizontal" reference. I am so guilty of that as well. Like, yesterday's task was to figure out a solution to a character losing her fob but still somehow getting in her car. I took a walk in sweltering Los Angeles heat to realize that she didn't need to get in her car for the scene to work.
