Thanks for this, Suzy. I'm in that awful place again of having to ask for blurbs. The bookstore where I requested a launch isn't responding. And I'm feeling behind on everything published book related. This is the part after spending too many years writing a book that always leaves me feeling naked. Your Substack helps me see that I'm not alone.
You have been so generous, to so many people, including me and my husband Don. I am eternally grateful to you. If you ever need a blurb, you know you can call on me. I owe you so much and am glad to call you a friend... :)
Thank you for bringing as always your kind humanistic vibe to the world of blurbs. I am currently receiving blurbs from authors for my book that’s coming out next year from Running Wild.
I have asked others to blurb my book some of whom have been with my book since it’s inception. I like to see it as a conversation between books from those who write them. I sincerely appreciate my friends taking their time to blurb my book. But here’s the thing, blurbing is yet another way authors support each other. Its us showing our love for the books we love.
Wow this is quite the change! I wish I could get back all the time (and self-respect) I've spent pursuing (aka begging for) blurbs over @@ 30 cookbooks and one memoir!
Suzy - love your writing! I hesitate to ask but would you read my comment here and blurb it and pass it up the ladder? Thanks for your time! I appreciate it.
Thanks for this post, Suzy--and congrats on the new job!

You definitely are in good company, Dian! XO
Thanks for sharing

Thanks, Theresa. Sweet of you to say. I'd be honored to have you read The Bequest for blurb... :)

Amen, sister!

That’s the way to do it!
Terrific - I'll mail you my new novella! Uh, no I won't. Don't worry.
What are Sean Manning's authors going to do in lieu of blurbs? I missed this piece.
They are mostly already so famous they don’t need them.
Well, I’ll be damned. But now that that change has been made, it seems obvious.
