Whew. Where to begin. In case you didn’t get the memo, Bitterroot is out next month, and thus begins the promotional hijinks. In books past, I’ve staged readings in donut shops; basements of bookstores where my author friends and I dressed in pjs and tossed balloons around; dressed my dog up in a blooper-ridden attempt to promote my empress series coupled with a playful storybook video.
For Bitterroot, I’m sticking with a more conventional launch on May 23. At the Cedar Hills Powell’s. In conversation with one of the smartest and loveliest authors I know, Debby Dodds.
If you’re not in town on May 23, fret not, there will be more Portland events (links soon). I will be participating in New York Story Night (at the iconic Churchill Tavern in NYC on Memorial Day), and, with colleague Natalie Hirt, teaching a workshop1 on a wonderful ranch in Hamilton, Montana June 27 - 30—including a dinner reading/signing in conjunction with Chapter One Book Store.
So, hopefully the Substack gods will forgive my clear and obvious promotional post here, will return to craft-oriented posts shortly. xo
There are still a handful of seats left for the workshop, email me: suzy@wordsinahurry.com
Good luck on the book tour. I hope you sell out at every stop and find new readers to add to your audience.
I hope to be at Powell's to get my copy signed, and maybe even ask a question or two. Congrats1
