Happy February!
You all are my Valentines. February is always a fantastic month when it comes to books and readings. In Portland alone, there are events almost every day this month--way too numerous to list, but here are few:
Rob Hart is coming to town and will be reading from his second Ash McKenna book (CITY OF ROSE) on Monday, Feb 15th at Powell's on Hawthorne. 7:30 pm. (Rob is a New Yorker, but the book is set here! In Portland!)
Later that week, Feb 19th, yours truly will reading from THE KEEPSAKE, and teaming up with superstar Jennifer Longo at Powell's Cedar Hills at 7:00 pm. I can't wait to gush about Jen's latest novel, UP TO THIS POINTE. We did a dual reading last year, and we had so much fun, we're doing a sequel! Penguins! Stickers! Royalty and dance. (Maybe we can get Jen to show us some ballet moves? Or give us tips on exploring the South Pole.)
And, you know, this is a leap year, right? So what better day (Feb. 29th, in case you need a reminder) to come out to the downtown Powell's to hear the always-spectacular Monica Drake reading from her very first collection of stories, THE FOLLY OF LOVING LIFE, released this month from Future Tense Books. 7:30 pm.
As long as we're celebrating Powell's (both THE EMPRESS CHRONICLES and THE KEEPSAKE made Powell's Top Five lists 2014 and 2015), there is still time (5 days, as of today) left to enter a RAFFLECOPTER sweepstakes and be eligible to win a $25 e-giftcard from Powell's! Click, click, click!
